about me

I'm Amber, but I go by sappyopal or Opal as an artist. I'm a Javanese Surinamese and Dutch artist living in the Netherlands and I'm fluent in Dutch and English. I'm currently working on my bachelors Computer Science & Engineering full time and enjoy illustrating on the side.As for art, I love illustrating things ranging from sincere fanart to more personal and emotional pieces. I usually get inspired by music, photographs, videos or artworks from other artists.Apart from art, I love listening to music, building gundams and gaming occasionally.For future endeavors, I'd love to start working on my own game sometime, though we'll see how far that goes.Thank you for supporting me!

FAQ

- What programs and devices do you use to make art?Currently, I'm using Infinite Painter on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9. In the past I have use Clip Studio Paint EX on Windows with a Wacom One Small tablet.- Are you open for requests/collabs/art-trades/commisions?Requests are closed. Collabs, art-trades and commisions are currently only open to friends. Due to some internal issues, my ko-fi does not currently work, here's the link anyways.
(januari 2025)- What is your advice to beginners?Practice makes progress. If you want to make art, then do it. Being "bad" at something isn't a crime, but not doing something because you're "bad" at it is a disservice to yourself. It's not going to be perfect, because it never is. Just keep doing what you're doing, that's good enough.
